Job summary

Community Hospital in Grand Junction, CO is seeking a dedicated RN for the Pre-Op PACU phase. You will advocate for patients, uphold ASPAN standards, and guide families through procedures and discharge planning.

The role requires collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure safe, continuous patient care. Qualified candidates hold an RN license, a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and a current BLS certification with sufficient remaining validity.

Qualifications

• RN License
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• BLS certification with at least 3 months remaining before expiration

Responsibilities

• Acts as patient advocate throughout perioperative stay
• Maintaining standards of professional care per ASPAN
• Explain procedures and discharge to patient and family to ensure understanding
• Initiate/maintain isolation precautions for safety
• Provide emotional and physical comfort and safety
• Respond to life-saving situations per policies and protocols
• Collaborate with perioperative team, anesthesiologist and surgeon for continuity of care
• Provide discharge education as appropriate
• Give patient transfer reports including assessment and safety issues
