Job summary

Rocky Mountain Surgery Center in Englewood, Colorado, seeks a PreOp PACU Nurse to provide safe postoperative nursing care in an ambulatory setting. You will support patients and families, ensure discharge readiness, and collaborate with the surgical team.

Requirements include nursing degree, active RN license, and BCLS/ACLS; 1+ year of clinical nursing experience. The center emphasizes staffing support, education, and comprehensive benefits for its colleagues.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher required.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in Preop, PACU, Pain, GI, ER, ICU or Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS Certification upon employment. Online certification not acceptable.
• ACLS required within 30-days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients’ care area and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are provided.
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients according to policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.).
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks as appropriate.
• Perform and document head-to-toe evaluation using approved scoring system per HCA policy.
• Check dressings or operative site and report abnormalities to surgeon.
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and family.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
