Job summary

EyeCare Partners is seeking a Part-time PAT Registered Nurse for the Pre-Op/PACU department. The role involves coordinating surgical scheduling, pre-admission testing, and preoperative assessments to ensure smooth operations.

Works with anesthesia and physicians to prepare patients for surgery in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate holds an accredited nursing degree, an active RN license in the United States, and BCLS certification, with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
• Current RN License in the United States; BCLS required.
• Minimum nursing experience in ASC, PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical or Telemetry.
• Ability to work in a fast paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a computer database for tracking surgical patients.
• Receive communications from surgery schedulers to schedule patients.
• Review pre-admission testing for surgical patients.
• Conduct phone assessments to obtain medical and medication history.
• Coordinate with physicians and anesthesia for preoperative planning.
• Communicate with anesthesia staff and surgeons to resolve questions before surgery.
• Evaluate allergies and arrange allergy testing when appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.
