Job summary

EyeCare Partners is the nation’s leading provider of clinically integrated eye care, with over 300 ophthalmologists and 700 optometrists. We are seeking a PAT Registered Nurse for the Pre-Op/PACU department on a part-time basis (24 hours/week, 3 eight-hour shifts).

There are never any evenings, weekends, or call. The role involves coordinating pre-operative processes, reviewing testing, and communicating with physicians, anesthesia staff, and schedulers to ensure a smooth surgical schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
• ,
• Current RN License and BCLS required.
• ACLS preferred.
• Ambulatory surgical center or PACU/ICU/Telemetry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a computer database for tracking surgical patients.
• Receive communications from surgery schedulers to schedule patients for surgery.
• Obtain and review pre-admission testing for surgical patients.
• Conduct a phone assessment to obtain medical and medication history.
• Communicate with physicians and anesthesia staff to confirm pre-operative information.
• Ensure allergies are reviewed and allergy testing set up when appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.
