Job summary

Saint Joseph Mercy Health System is seeking a registered nurse for the Main Pre-op/PACU at Trinity Health Ann Arbor. The role supports a 38-bay unit with 20 ORs, providing perioperative care for diverse surgical cases during day shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited nursing program.
• All new hires must have a BSN degree or commit to obtaining BSN within five years.
• Current Michigan Nursing License required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• View patients holistically, considering physical, psychosocial, emotional, age-specific, cultural and spiritual factors.
• Demonstrate critical thinking by gathering and analyzing patient information and responding to situations.
• Develop and revise individualized care plans using evidence-based interventions and standards of care.
• Identify patient and family education needs; develop teaching plans and use teach-back to ensure understanding.
• Create a positive patient experience and effective communication in the EMR and with the care team.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to plan discharge and ensure readiness.
