Job summary

Urology San Antonio is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to provide skilled nursing care in the Pre-op and Post-operative areas of the Surgery Center.

The nurse ensures patients' needs are met under physician and facility procedures, participates in quality activities, and helps monitor anesthesia-related recovery.

Responsibilities include assessing patients on arrival and in recovery, communicating findings to the surgeon or anesthesia providers, and supporting a safe, efficient recovery process.

Qualifications

• Nurse must be licensed in Texas.
• Experience in PACU or operating room is preferred.

The PACU Registered Nurse is accountable for the provision of nursing care in the assigned Pre-op and Post-operative areas of the Surgery Center.

The Nurse will ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of the Physicians and the Facility's Administrative procedures. Will participate in various quality activities as appropriate and as directed by the Clinical Manager, Director of Nursing, Medical Director, and or the Quality Committee.

Performs nursing care for the patient in the Pre-op and immediate Post-operative/Post anesthesia period, assessing and documenting the patient's status upon arrival at the Center and in the recovery room.

Provides nursing care to meet patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered, monitoring patient and informing Surgeon and or Anesthesia provider of observed complications.
