Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a skilled Pre-op/PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care before surgery and during post-anesthesia recovery while ensuring safe and effective patient care. The role involves assessing and preparing patients, monitoring in PACU, and collaborating with the surgical team.

The ideal candidate graduates from an accredited nursing program, holds a state RN license, and maintains BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license as required by the state.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience in pre-op, PACU, perioperative, ICU, or critical-care nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and prepare patients for surgical and procedural interventions.
• Monitor patients during post-anesthesia recovery, including vital signs, airway, pain, and level of consciousness.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered.
• Provide discharge instructions and educate patients and caregivers on post-procedure care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and the surgical team.

Assess and prepare patients for surgical and procedural interventions. Verify patient information, review medical history, and provide pre-operative education. Monitor patients during post-anesthesia recovery, including vital signs, airway, pain, and level of consciousness. Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered. Monitor for complications and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. Provide discharge instructions and educate patients and caregivers on post-procedure care. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and the surgical team.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current RN license as required by the state. Current BLS and ACLS certifications. Previous Pre-op, PACU, perioperative, ICU, or critical-care nursing experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and patient-care skills.
