Job summary

Texas International Endoscopy Center is seeking a PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy. You'll assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia.

Candidates must be a Graduate of an accredited RN program, hold a Texas RN license, and have BLS and ACLS. Two years PACU/CCU experience is preferred; strong decision making and communication skills

Qualifications

  • RN degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • Texas RN license required to practice.
  • BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients pre- and post-op.
  • Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation using sterile techniques.
  • Evaluate patient conditions and manage recovery from anesthesia with discharge planning.

PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. This role includes continual evaluation of patient conditions, assisting physicians in procedure rooms with tasks such as conscious sedation using sterile techniques, and delivering comprehensive patient care as they recover from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Responsibilities also include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients and families in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state of Texas
  • BLS and ACLS required (PALS if required by the center)
  • 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills to meet patient and unit needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Required Skills
  • Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
  • Knowledge of perioperative and PACU nursing practices
  • Ability to manage patients under sedation and anesthesia recovery
  • Proficiency in monitoring vital signs and identifying complications
  • Competency in IV therapy, medication administration, and airway management
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of PACU, PreOp, or Critical Care nursing experience preferred
  • Familiarity with conscious sedation protocols and emergency response
  • Experience in an ambulatory surgery or outpatient setting is a plus
