Howard County Gastrointestinal Diagnostic Center is seeking a Pre Op PACU Nurse to join our team in Columbia, MD. The PACU Registered Nurse delivers continuous, high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia, monitoring vitals, ensuring safety, and supporting families through discharge planning.

The ideal candidate has an RN license, BLS/ACLS (PALS if required) and at least 2 years in PACU or critical care, with strong communication and organizational skills to prioritize care in a

  • RN license to practice in the state is required.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS if required by the center.
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment; strong communication.
  • Prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs in a busy unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuity and quality patient care for PACU patients after anesthesia.
  • Monitor patient condition and ensure safety, comfort, and privacy.
  • Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks and sedation as needed.
  • Perform assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for discharge.

Howard County Gastrointestinal Diagnostic Center is seeking a Pre Op PACU Nurse
Pre Op PACU Registered Nurse (Pre Op PACU RN)

The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state
  • BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
  • 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Pay Range: Min: $38.03 to Max: $57.05
