Job summary

Bethesda Chevy Chase Surgery Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Preop/PACU to provide comprehensive nursing care from preop assessment through recovery. The role emphasizes patient safety, comfort, and privacy with continuous evaluation of patient status.

The position requires graduation from an accredited RN program, Maryland RN license, BLS/ACLS (PALS if required), and 2 years in PACU or critical care preferred. Weekdays only; no holidays, weekends, nights, or on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in Maryland.
• BLS and ACLS Required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of PACU/CC experience preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients and continuously evaluate patient conditions.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy; plan and implement discharge preparation.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique.
• Perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family needs.

Registered Nurse Preop/PACU at Bethesda Chevy Chase Surgery Center

The Registered Nurse Preop/PACU provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state of Maryland
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Salary Range: Min $39.93 to Max $59.90. Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience.
