Job summary

The Pre-Make Ready I position at Toppan Flexible Packaging Inc. in Morristown, TN, supports press operations by preparing cylinders, printing components, pumps, and equipment for smooth changeovers.

Reporting to the Process Leader, you will complete pre-press setup safely and accurately, following specs, maintaining GMP standards, and collaborating with the Press team to minimize downtime and ensure quality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to follow directions and complete assignments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read a ruler and perform required measurements.
  • Maintain clear, accurate logs and records.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality setups.
  • Comfortable working with mechanical components and production equipment.
  • Able to read job specs and work instructions.
  • Willing to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain it.
  • Available for rotating 8-hour shifts and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely and follow plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear PPE and follow safety protocols.
  • Maintain GMP and cleanliness standards.
  • Assemble press parts and pumps for upcoming production jobs.
  • Set up units per production requirements and quality standards.
  • Assemble/disassemble printing trolley components.
  • Repack bearings and adjust rewind configurations.
  • Operate Renzmann and PRI equipment.
  • Handle hazardous waste and complete documentation.
  • Inspect printing cylinders for damage or defects.
  • Read and interpret order specs and condition sheets.
  • Assist with press changeovers to support production transitions.
  • Operate forklift as required.
  • Keep accurate, timely records and maintain a clean work area.
  • Support total quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work independently and with team members; overtime as needed.

Position: Pre-Make Ready

Location: Morristown

Shift: 8-hour rotating schedule

Pay Rate: $18.76 - $25.96/hour

Bonus: $1,000 sign-on bonus after 90 days

Summary Description

The Pre-Make Ready I supports press operations by preparing cylinders, printing components, pumps, and other equipment required for efficient press changeovers. Reporting to the Process Leader, this position is responsible for completing pre-press setup activities safely, accurately, and according to production specifications. This role works closely with the Press team to ensure equipment and materials are properly prepared for upcoming jobs, helping minimize changeover time and maintain production quality and efficiency.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Work safely at all times while following plant and division safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow established safety procedures and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain company health, housekeeping, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
  • Assemble press parts and pumps accurately for upcoming production jobs.
  • Set up cohesive/reverse units according to production requirements.
  • Assemble and disassemble printing trolley components.
  • Repack bearings using established procedures.
  • Operate Renzmann and PRI equipment.
  • Properly handle hazardous waste and complete all associated documentation requirements.
  • Inspect printing cylinders for damage, defects, and other potential issues.
  • Set up cylinders with the correct rewind configuration.
  • Ensure completed setups meet established quality requirements.
  • Read and interpret order specifications and condition sheets related to press setup.
  • Assist with press changeovers to support efficient production transitions.
  • Operate a forklift as required.
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and timely records and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Support total quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work independently while collaborating effectively with other team members.
  • Work overtime as required to support production needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
