Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas is seeking a technically skilled engineer to drive new business development trials, scale up of new packaging structures, and process development for new items at our Franklin, OH facility. The role includes maintaining documentation and collaborating with operations to improve efficiency.

You’ll work with epoxy/rotogravure printing knowledge, extrusion, laminating, slitting, and laser scoring, supporting equipment maintenance and process improvements in a 100% onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ChemE, ME, EE, Pkg Eng or another technical field.
• 1–5 years of industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of rotogravure printing, extrusion, laminating, slitting, and laser scoring.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with plant operations to implement new procedures or processes to improve productivity, reduce scrap, and minimize costs.
• Collaborate with Quality Manager and lab techs when products do not meet specification.
• Work in teams to improve product quality or reduce costs on related projects.
• Understand equipment functionality and troubleshoot when not performing to expectations.
• Determine best process conditions, maintenance frequencies, to ensure consistent operations.
• Define critical process parameters and establish acceptable ranges in Ei3 for process monitoring.
• Analyze and facilitate resolution of process problems with the process improvement team.
• Provide problem solving to plant related production issues.
