Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas is seeking a Material Handler/CDL for our Morristown, TN facility. The role moves raw materials and finished goods safely, operates forklifts, and ensures accurate shipping/receiving documentation. A valid CDL and forklift qualifications are required.

Responsibilities include staging materials, loading/unloading trucks, maintaining inventory, and supporting GMP standards. This position offers rotating shifts and overtime to support production needs.

Qualifications

  • Active CDL and ability to maintain licensure requirements.
  • Certified or qualified to operate a forklift.
  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or manufacturing experience.
  • Able to load, unload, stage, and move raw materials and finished goods.
  • Capable of reviewing bills of lading, packing lists, and other shipping documents.
  • Basic computer skills to maintain logs and records.
  • Able to use a ruler and perform basic measurements.
  • Team player with ability to work with multiple departments.
  • Willing to work rotating shifts and overtime.

  • Maintain company health, housekeeping, and GMP standards.
  • Complete required forklift inspections at the beginning of each shift.
  • Locate, stage, and deliver raw materials for upcoming production jobs.
  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing materials against bills of lading, packing lists, and other shipping documentation.
  • Inspect trucks and trailers prior to loading or unloading for unsafe or unsanitary conditions.
  • Maintain an organized warehouse and stage materials according to production and shipping requirements.
  • Verify returned rolls have the appropriate return documentation and are properly palletized.
  • Ensure returned raw materials and rejected materials are properly identified, palletized, and stored.
  • Assist with raw material and finished goods inventory.
  • Verify availability of raw materials for upcoming production jobs.
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
  • Sort and properly handle recyclable materials.
  • Maintain accurate and timely logs and records.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the department.
  • Work independently while also collaborating effectively with production, shipping, receiving, and warehouse team members.
  • Work overtime as required to support business and production needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position: Material Handler/CDL Location: Morristown, TN Schedule: Rotating Shifts Pay Rate: $25.39–$31.29/hour

Summary Description The Material Handler/CDL supports shipping, receiving, warehouse, and production operations by ensuring raw materials and finished goods are safely and efficiently moved throughout the facility. This position is responsible for staging materials for production, loading and unloading trucks, verifying shipping and receiving documentation, maintaining inventory accuracy, and operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment. This role requires an active CDL and the ability to maintain all requirements associated with CDL licensure.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Work safely at all times while following all plant and division safety policies and procedures.

  • Maintain company health, housekeeping, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
  • Complete required forklift inspections at the beginning of each shift.

  • Ensure returned raw materials and rejected materials are properly identified, palletized, and stored.

  • Sort and properly handle recyclable materials.
  • Maintain accurate and timely logs and records.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

  • Work independently while also collaborating effectively with production, shipping, receiving, and warehouse team members.
  • Work overtime as required to support business and production needs.

We’d Love to Hear From You
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Possess a valid CDL and can meet all requirements necessary to maintain your licensure.
  • Be certified or qualified to operate a forklift.
  • Have previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, material‑handling, or manufacturing experience.
  • Can safely load, unload, stage, and move raw materials and finished goods.
  • Be comfortable reviewing bills of lading, packing lists, and other shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Have basic computer skills and can accurately maintain logs and records.
  • Can accurately use a ruler and perform basic measurements.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions and complete assignments in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Be dependable, safety‑focused, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Be a team player who can work effectively with multiple departments.
  • Be willing and able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
