Job summary

CR Legal Team is seeking a passionate Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join our Wilmington, NC team. You will lead strategy for complex personal injury cases, collaborate with a team, and connect with clients with empathy.

The role requires extensive trial experience and bar admission in NC/SC. The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of civil litigation, significant courtroom experience, and a track record of verdicts in state/federal court, including trucking or catastrophic injuries.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited college or university.
• Licensed to practice law in North Carolina and/or South Carolina.
• In good standing with their respective State Bar(s).
• 10+ years of civil litigation experience.
• 10 cases tried in North Carolina Superior Court (or the equivalent in other jurisdictions) and/or United States District Court.
• Experience as a Lead Attorney in successfully litigating complex personal injury cases to verdict in state and federal court, to include trucking and/or catastrophic injury cases.
• Affiliation with or membership in specific trade groups with a focus on acquiring specialized knowledge and training on catastrophic injury cases (e.g. - DRI, NAPIA, NC Trucking Association, TIDA, ATAA) preferable.
• Must be able to exercise extensive independent judgment to make decisions in carrying out assignments.
• Ability to instruct, direct, mentor, and evaluate team members, direct and motivate others, communicate effectively and use judgment, tact, and discretion, quickly assimilate oral and written data, analyze facts, draw logical conclusions, and maintain collaborative client/team member relations.
• Travel is required.

• Handle and develop strategy for complex Personal Injury cases.

• Engage in all case-related settings, including mediations, arbitrations, depositions, hearings, trials, and client interactions.
• Demonstrate confidence and poise in the courtroom and persuasively present arguments.
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for clients.
• Examine legal and medical data to determine insurance coverage, liability, damages, and overall strategy.
• Conduct research, guide clients, and handle details in preparation for case-related events.
• Develop settlement brochures, strategies, and arguments in preparation for presentation of case; ensure compliance with disbursements and settlement funds.
• Effectively utilize technology to perform duties of the position.
• Establish and build relationships with other professionals in communities we serve to enhance brand recognition, marketing, and client service.
• Travel required.

• Ability to instruct, direct, mentor, and evaluate team members, direct and motivate others, communicate effectively and use judgment, tact, and discretion, quickly assimilate oral and written data, analyze facts, draw logical conclusions, and maintain collaborative client/team member relations.

Pay Rate: Depending on experience, guarantee of $200,000 plus robust bonus program.
