Job Description

As a Benefit Advisor, you will have the rewarding opportunity to speak with Medicare eligible participants across the country in a sales role to assist them in selecting insurance plans that meet their needs. You will spend your entire day in phone conversations with participants exercising patience and knowledge with caring explanations to enroll them in healthcare insurance products.

Pre-licensed Benefit Advisors will start at $18/hr. and will have significant incentive earning potential during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (Oct-Dec). During this period, many Benefit Advisors make between $500-$1,000 in monthly bonuses & incentives, with top performers earning $2,000+.

This is a full-time temporary role. Top performers may be eligible for full-time year-round employment, which offers a comprehensive WTW compensation and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in a paid exam preparation program and pass your state’s Life and Health Insurance license exam
• Complete all required certifications to represent insurance carriers
• Use a consultative sales approach to assess insurance needs
• Conduct eligibility and needs analysis to recommend suitable plans
• Communicate plan costs and benefits empathetically over the phone
• Assist participants in decision-making based on their needs
• Maintain professionalism and patience during calls
• Participate in outbound campaigns to introduce new relationships
• Work collaboratively in a diverse call center environment

Qualifications & Requirements

Must adhere to legal regulations. Candidates should be eager to learn, have strong computer skills, be self-motivated, and receptive to feedback. Patience, active listening, adaptability in communication style, and objection handling are essential. A high school diploma or GED is required. During peak season, overtime may be necessary. Successful candidates will undergo a thorough background check.

Training & Skill Requirements

• Complete a 4-week paid exam prep and pass your state license exam
• Attend a virtual two-week training and a nesting week post-licensing
• Ability to meet all agent appointment and certification requirements
• Experience with Microsoft Office and learning proprietary systems preferred
• Experience in needs-based sales is a plus
• Ability to work independently in a self-paced environment
• Excellent professional communication skills
• Ability to interpret insurance documents and policies
