Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Hodges, SC is seeking a Product Development Engineering Co-op to help design and develop innovative busway solutions. You will contribute from pre-launch research through manufacturing launch, focusing on DFMA, cost optimization, and design validation.

You’ll collaborate with the engineering team and MOL supervisors, perform CAD modeling, BOM/ECO work, and assist with certifications while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
• Must be willing to relocate to the Hodges, SC site for the co-op with relocation assistance if outside a 50-mile radius

Responsibilities

• Perform CAD solid modeling, design simulation, BOM and ECO creation, and design validation
• Design parts and assemblies including sheet metal, plastics, mechanisms, and electrical wiring
• Participate in new product development, prototyping, DFMA, and design-to-industrialization activities
• Engage in project management with multi-disciplinary teams using ProLaunch
• Conduct VOC research on product and market requirements
• Maintain existing products through MOL and VAVE activities
• Assist with 3rd party certifications (UL, CSA, ISTA) and other regulators
• Ensure timely completion of project commitments and maintain safety standards
