Job summary

Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges is seeking a Pre-K Teacher Assistant to support curriculum implementation and assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining an engaging, safe classroom. This full-time role involves teamwork, supervising children, and participating in YMCA events and trainings.

Position starts in September 2026 and runs through June 2026, with benefits including medical/dental, PTO, holidays, and a 403(b) plan. Strong communication and a caring, responsible approach are essential.

Qualifications

• CDA or 60 college credits/degree in Education preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, parents and youth.
• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative to identify and address risks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher in implementing an age-appropriate curriculum.
• Maintain organization, decor, and cleanliness of the classroom.
• Support classroom activities and participate in staff trainings and meetings.
• Act as a role model and provide nurturing interactions with children.
• Assist in school events, parent advisory activities, and summer programs.
