Qualifications

• Requires an Associate Degree or 48 college hours.
• Pass ParaPro Praxis and have high school diploma/equivalency.
• Eighteen (18) years of age or older; 21+ for high school employment.
• Willing to participate in paraeducator training and sign language course if assigned to hearing impaired class.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructional staff with students under supervision.
• Prepare materials to support individual differences (e.g., reading materials).
• Organize classroom and arrange room for instructional activities.
• Follow all regulations and policies of the school and board.
• Attend faculty meetings when requested.
• Assist with non-instructional duties such as lunchroom and supervision.
• Assist with students' personal needs and medical needs after training.
• Relieve teachers for conferences and emergencies.
