Job summary

ST VILLE ELEMENTARY in Harvey, Louisiana, seeks a Paraprofessional - Itinerant Sped to assist instructional staff with disabled students. The position involves instructional and non-instructional duties, under teacher supervision, with duties ranging from classroom support to materials preparation.

Starting immediately, the paraeducator will work within a school setting, follow board policies, and participate in required trainings and meetings. A competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 college hours or equivalent for paraeducator role.
• Pass ParaPro Praxis and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18+ years old, with 21+ for high school assignments.

Responsibilities

• Works with individual or small groups of students to reinforce skills and concepts.
• Prepares instructional materials to meet individual differences.
• Maintains classroom organization and follows school and board policies.
• Attends faculty meetings when requested and assists with non-instructional duties.
• Supports students with disabilities after proper training, including medical or personal needs.
