Job summary

Harford County Public Schools invites applications for a Paraeducator – Pre-Kindergarten at Magnolia Elementary School in Bel Air, MD. This full-time ten-month position supports classroom instruction, assists with lesson delivery, and helps with data collection and student assessment.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and relevant credentials such as an associate degree or CDA; ParaPro and Foundations certifications are considered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AA degree or higher preferred.
• CDA with 48 college credits required.
• ParaPro score of 455+ or equivalent required.
• Foundations of Classroom Support (517) or (519) scores required.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instruction and support students during lessons.
• Implement teacher lesson plans with individuals or small groups.
• Support data collection, testing, and student assessment.
• Assist with IEP/IFSP implementation for students with special needs.
• Monitor behavior and apply behavioral strategies and intervention plans.
• Perform school-wide duties such as field trips and class coverage.
• Provide support in-person and via digital platforms when applicable.
