Job summary

Harford County Public Schools seeks a dedicated Paraeducator for Church Creek Elementary to support instruction in a Pre-K setting. You will assist with lesson delivery, data collection, and student accommodations as part of a collaborative teaching team.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED plus an associate degree or CDA credentials. Strong communication and adaptability are essential; training for restraint may be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and an associate of arts degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or CDA certificate with required credits.
• CDA requirements include ParaPro/ParaPathways scores or Foundations of Classroom Support credentials.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to meet physical requirements and perform restraint when trained.
• Experience with students with disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students during instruction.
• Assist teachers with lesson plans for individuals or small groups.
• Support data collection, testing, and student assessment.
• Assist with IEP/IFSP implementation for students with special needs.
• Monitor behavior and apply behavioral strategies and interventions.
• Support with personal care needs and mobility as required.
• Participate in school activities and professional development.
