Job summary

Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking an Early Learning Educational Assistant I–III for EOEL Public Prekindergarten classrooms. The role works independently to provide learning experiences across development domains, following guidelines and teacher instructions, and supports children and families in a learning environment.

Applicants must meet one of the following: CDA credential, CDA-related program training, or be enrolled in a program toward CDA.

Qualifications

• Examination approved by Hawaii DOE such as ParaPro or ParaPathways.
• At least 48 college credits including 3 math and 3 English.
• An associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Cultivates healthy, engaging learning environments and guides children.
• Implements and assesses learning experiences with plans from the teacher.
• Observes children and documents development and learning progress.
• Ensures health and safety; assists with routines and transitions.
• Prepares materials and sets up learning centers as directed.
• Supervises before, during, and after class activities.
