Job summary

City of San Antonio seeks a Family Engagement Liaison to promote and develop family engagement for Pre‑K 4 SA. You will lead outreach and recruitment efforts, support families in advocacy for education, and coordinate with community groups to connect resources.

The role requires visiting multiple education centers in San Antonio, traveling as needed, and working with the Education Center staff to engage families and monitor program outcomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cultural differences and implications for service delivery.
• Knowledge of community resources for families in San Antonio.
• Knowledge of school system and relevant laws and policies.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, districts and families.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

Responsibilities

• Organize and provide ongoing parent/family/community engagement trainings and meetings.
• Assist families and staff in understanding Pre‑K 4 SA policies with respectful practices.
• Conduct home visits using reliable transportation.
• Build relationships with Education Center staff and families daily.
• Document program activities and outcomes to share best practices.
• Collaborate to plan outreach and engagement events.
• Keep parents informed of opportunities and services for student progress.
• Attend professional learning sessions for growth.
• Perform related duties as required.
