Job summary

City of San Antonio is seeking a Family Engagement Liaison to work with the Pre-K 4 SA program across multiple education centers in San Antonio. You will lead outreach, support families, and coordinate with staff and community partners to promote student advancement.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1 year of related experience, and may require bilingual English/Spanish skills and a Texas driver’s license. This is a full‑time, at‑will position with regular daytime hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
• One (1) year of experience in education, social services, adult education, community organizations, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Organize and provide ongoing parent/family/community engagement trainings and meetings in coordination with the Family Engagement Team and Engagement Manager.
• Assist parents/families/community and staff in understanding Pre‑K 4 SA and school district policies; provide an exceptional customer experience for all families, with intentional and professional practices that promote a culture of respect and equity.
• Conduct scheduled home visits to improve communications with parents utilizing personal vehicle; will need reliable transportation.
• Establish and maintain productive working relationships with Education Center staff and parents/families/community and community resource providers; establish relationships with children and families by being visible daily.
• Document program activities and outcomes, which will promote the identification of successful practices and the sharing of these practices.
• Collaborate closely with Education Center staff, the Family Specialist, other family liaisons to organize and execute outreach and engagement events.
• Keep parents informed of program opportunities and services available at the school or within the community to support student progress.
• Attend professional learning sessions to ensure continued growth.
• Performs related duties and fulfill responsibilities as required.
