Job summary

The City of San Antonio’s Pre-K 4 SA Department is recruiting for multiple instructional positions in the Education Centers. The role focuses on promoting social, physical, and intellectual growth for four-year-olds, delivering age-appropriate lessons, and engaging families in supporting children’s learning. Work hours are 7:30 a.m.

to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at various education centers. The position is funded by a time-limited sales tax and is at-will employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree com­patible with early childhood education.
• Valid teaching certificate with required endorsements to teach early childhood education and ability to obtain Texas certification.
• Valid Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Implements early age curriculum in a language- and numbers-rich classroom.
• Plans and delivers engaging lessons aligned to students' needs.
• Assesses developmental needs and adapts instruction for each child.
• Uses varied instructional strategies and conducts large- and small-group activities.
• Maintains a conducive classroom environment supporting physical, social, and emotional development.
• Communicates with parents through meetings, newsletters, and portals.
