Job summary

Broken Arrow Public Schools is seeking a Pre-K Teacher Assistant to support instruction at an assigned site. The role is 7 hours per day and non-exempt, reporting to the Site Principal.

You will assist the lead teacher with activities, supervise students, prepare materials, and help with classroom organization and behavior monitoring. A High school diploma or GED is required; 6 months preschool experience preferred; a Food Handlers Permit may be required on hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months working with children in preschool setting preferred.
• Good communication and organizational skills; teamwork; must be able to complete Food Handlers Permit requirements by BAPS on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instructional support to the certified teacher and use lessons prepared by the teacher.
• Reinforce lessons with small groups and direct independent study under supervision.
• Assist with classroom setup, materials, and bulletin boards; monitor student behavior.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, and transitions; ensure student welfare.
• Provide non-instructional supports and help with general organization and preparation tasks.
