Job summary

Jenks Public Schools Northwest Elementary in Tulsa, Oklahoma seeks a Teacher Assistant to support classroom instruction and student supervision. Reports to the Principal and focuses on small group work and material preparation.

The position is a nine-month classified hourly contract with a starting date of immediately and a starting wage of $13.28 per hour. Candidates must meet ESSA requirements and possess strong clerical and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Meet ESSA requirements via multiple options (2 years of college / 48 credits, or an associate’s degree or higher, or NCRC with ACT/WorkKeys, or passing OGET).
• Computer and clerical skills required.
• Good interpersonal skills with students and adults.
• Comply with district health and citizenship requirements.
• Board may consider suitable alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce math, English, reading, social studies and science instruction.
• Assist with individual and/or small group instruction.
• Assist with remedial instruction.
• Grade papers and record grades.
• Prepare materials and assist the classroom teacher.
• Help maintain student records.
• Help with playground and cafeteria supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
