Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience with young children.
• Commitment to ongoing education in early childhood.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to build relationships with families and staff.
• Background check completed.

Responsibilities

• Assists the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in alignment with the center’s philosophy and licensing standards.
• Implements activities that support children’s growth in emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Interacts with children to support play, exploration, and learning, meeting individual needs.
• Assists in behavioral supports to redirect children and foster positive interactions among children.
• Monitors children outside the classroom during recess and while the teacher is occupied.
• Creates and maintains a clean, safe classroom environment meeting licensing requirements.
• Establishes professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Obtains at least 15 hours of high-quality, classroom-focused professional development per year.
