Job summary

ANSONIA EARLY START CT PROGRAM is seeking an Assistant Teacher/Aide for its Pre-Kindergarten program. Responsibilities include supporting the classroom teacher, implementing daily activities, and maintaining documentation to track children's development.

Candidates should have a CDA and/or be enrolled in an Early Childhood Education credential program or hold a degree in Early Childhood Education or related with 12 credits, and must work toward the credential within the first year of employment.

Qualifications

• CDA and/or pursuing an Early Childhood Education credential within the first year of employment.
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with at least 12 ECE credits.
• If not fully meeting the credential requirement at hire, must be working toward meeting this goal within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Classroom Teacher by following instructions, informing the Teacher of observed needs of the children, and helping maintain the NAEYC classroom portfolio.
• Assist in implementing the Daily Program, setting up centers, preparing materials, and helping with cleaning and organizational tasks.
• Maintain an adult-to-child ratio of 1:10 or better and observe/record learning experiences with documentation.
• Participate in required trainings and follow ECERS, NAEYC, and Early Start CT policies and guidelines.
