Job summary

The Manchester Boys Club Inc. is seeking a JSYEC Pre-K Associate Teacher to supervise and engage four- and five-year-olds within the Pre-K program. Reporting to the Pre-K Director, you will support daily activities, maintain a safe, structured environment, and ensure active supervision.

This hands-on role emphasizes implementation over design, requiring a caring presence, reliable attendance, and the ability to follow directions from supervisory staff. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Criminal background screening and fingerprinting required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of childcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of child development for ages 4–5.
• Ability to engage positively with young children.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of Pre‑K children in assigned program areas at all times.
• Implement daily activities, transitions, and routines as directed by the Pre‑K Director and Lead Teacher.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment within assigned areas in accordance with licensing and safety requirements.
• Redirect and guide children's behavior using the program's approved positive behavior guidance strategies.
• Support children during transitions including arrival, dismissal, meals, restroom routines, and activity changes.
• Engage actively and positively with children to support social‑emotional development and a sense of belonging.
