Job summary

Public Consulting Group is seeking an instructor to deliver direct instruction to students in communication, life skills, and pre-employment skills in Biloxi, MS. The role focuses on identifying student strengths, setting goals, and helping learners acquire competitive, marketable work skills during work experiences.

Responsibilities include developing portfolios, using adaptive teaching methods, tracking progress, and coordinating with consultants.

Responsibilities

• Assess the learning strengths and areas of development and interests of the student.
• With input from the student, develop goals and outcomes.
• Instruct students on employability skills such as communication, technology, problem solving, teamwork, resume writing, interview skills, and job search.
• Assist the student in developing a portfolio with certificates, letters of recommendation from internships.
• Utilize teaching methods and materials tailored to meet individual student needs.
• Assess progress in classroom and work site.
• Monitor and record daily attendance in class and at the work site.
• Teach student to inform instructor of absences or tardiness.
• Assist student in training about public transportation and how to access transit.
• Provide monthly written communications with consultant and others as needed.
• Provide employers with information about disability awareness and supervision strategies.
• Maintain accurate and complete files for each student.
