DiBara Masonry is a 4th-generation Los Angeles construction company specializing in masonry, concrete, hardscape, hillside, and complex structural work. We are bringing our permitting and pre-construction due diligence fully in-house and hiring a Permitting and Due Diligence Manager to own this function.
This is not a runner position. You will be the resident subject-matter expert responsible for determining project feasibility, navigating agency approvals, and driving plan checks so projects move seamlessly from contract to groundbreaking.
What You’ll Do
- Permit Lifecycle Management: Own the full permit process (LADBS & surrounding LA jurisdictions) for retaining walls, concrete, structural, grading, and demolition scopes.
- Agency Counter & On-Site Representation: Submit complete permit packages, track plan checks, resolve correction notices, schedule inspections, and represent DiBara at local building departments and job sites.
- Pre-Construction Due Diligence: Research zoning, setbacks, property history, and hillside ordinances to deliver reliable feasibility, cost, and schedule assessments before crews break ground.
- Consultant Management: Direct soils engineers, geologists, structural engineers, and architects to hold deliverables to strict timelines.
- Tracking & Compliance: Maintain a live permit tracker across high-volume concurrent projects and resolve open code enforcement cases or unpermitted work issues.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years pulling permits in Los Angeles County (LADBS + surrounding cities like Glendale, Pasadena, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills) for a contractor, expediter, or developer.
- Strong working knowledge of the California Building Code, Title 24, and LA hillside/grading/setback regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to read structural/architectural drawings and manage third-party engineering consultants.
- High organizational skills capable of tracking 20+ concurrent permits without letting details slip.
- Greater Los Angeles area location with a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (mix of remote admin work, agency counters, and site visits).
- Preferred: Background in masonry/concrete, code enforcement resolution, or bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Salary: $80,000 / year
- Schedule: Full-time
