What will you do?

The Preconstruction Estimator position is held by an experienced estimator who demonstrates leadership qualities. This role is designed as a player/coach position, responsible for estimating and daily management duties. The Senior Preconstruction Estimator will actively manage workload pipelines using BFO, support regional activities, mentor team members, and participate in recruitment when necessary.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage daily activities of local pre-construction resources.
2. Assign work based on team members' bandwidth and experience.
3. Assist sales with project qualification and prioritization.
4. Provide technical coaching and support for team members.
5. Promote new initiatives within the PreCon organization and support their rollout.
6. Mentor new employees and support employee development.
7. Represent the local pre-construction team in branch meetings and support branch strategies.
8. Gather feedback from operations and sales teams for continuous improvement.

Estimating:

1. Develop turnkey estimates for Building Automation projects.
2. Prioritize projects to meet sales schedules.
3. Review specifications and drawings for technical compatibility and competitiveness.
4. Coordinate subcontractor quotations and scopes of work.
5. Create detailed scope letters and system designs.
6. Attend pre-bid meetings and site walk-throughs.
7. Collaborate with teams to optimize costs and project strategies.
8. Reconcile project costs post-completion.
9. Support sales efforts as needed.
10. Maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
11. Ensure smooth project turnover to operations, identifying discrepancies.
12. Support vendor negotiations and cross-training activities.
13. Complete technical training to enhance skills.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
