Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is seeking a Pre-Certification Registration Clerk for the Physical Medicine department. Responsibilities include greeting patients, collecting demographics and insurance data, and handling pre-certifications and scheduling for PT/OT/SLP services.

Moderate billing and credentialing duties accompany daily operations. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, clerical experience, and familiarity with medical terminology; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Secretarial Sciences or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one year clerical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register and schedule patients for the Physical Medicine Department.
• Collect co-pays on a per-visit basis for outpatient services.
• Handle pre-certifications, recertifications, and insurance authorizations.
• Perform daily billing/charge entry and audit charges for accuracy.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare, welfare, and other policies and perform Medicaid verifications.
