Job summary

Prosser Memorial Health (PMH) in Prosser, Washington seeks our first‑ever Pre‑Anesthesia Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive preoperative assessment and optimization at our PASS Clinic. The role serves as the clinical liaison between patients, our anesthesia/CRNA team, surgeons, and primary care providers to ensure patients are medically prepared for surgery.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Active WA State licensure or eligible to apply.
• DEA registration and prescriptive authority in WA.
• ACLS certification, required.
• Clinic experience, strongly preferred.
• Acute Care/Cardiology/Perioperative experience, preferred.
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient education skills.
• Proficiency in Epic/EMR systems and documentation standards.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive chart reviews and patient evaluations for readiness.
• Identify and mitigate perioperative risks with evidence‑based protocols.
• Approve and review labs, imaging, and EKGs as indicated.
• Complete medication reconciliations.
• Coordinate referrals and consultations as appropriate.
• Collaborate with anesthesia team and surgeons to ensure readiness.
• Provide patient education and address questions.
• Serve as a clinical resource for nursing and staff at the PAC clinic.

Prosser Memorial Health (PMH) in Prosser, Washington seeks our first‑ever Pre‑Anesthesia Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive preoperative assessment and optimization at our new PASS (Preoperative Assessment Clinic) Clinic. Our Pre‑Anesthesia Nurse Practitioner will serve as the clinical liaison between patients, our Anesthesia/CRNA team, surgeons, and primary care providers to ensure patients are medically prepared for surgery. PMH is a critical access nonprofit hospital with more than a dozen primary care and specialty clinics dedicated to providing excellent healthcare and support services to realize our mission to improve the health of our community.

Pre-Anesthesia Nurse Practitioner Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive chart reviews and patient evaluations - histories and physical exams, to include airway assessments - to ensure patients’ readiness for surgery.
• Identify and mitigate perioperative risks informed by evidence-based protocols.
• Approve and review diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, and EKGs), as indicated.
• Complete medication reconciliations.
• Coordinate specialist referrals and additional consultations as appropriate.
• Collaborate directly with the PMH Anesthesia team and Surgeons to ensure patient readiness, particularly patients with higher‑risk conditions.
• Provide patient education, addressing questions and escalating concerns when necessary.
• Serve as a clinical resource for nursing and ancillary staff at the PAC clinic.
• Listed responsibilities are a general overview; additional duties may be assigned.
