Job summary
Prosser Memorial Health in Prosser, Washington seeks a full‑time Pre‑Anesthesia Nurse Practitioner to perform comprehensive preoperative assessments and optimizations at the PAC clinic. You will act as the clinical liaison among patients, anesthesia, surgeons, and primary care providers to prepare patients for surgery and reduce delays.
The role emphasizes independent yet collaborative work with strong clinical assessment, documentation in Epic, and adherence to APH protocols within a community
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Active WA State licensure.
- DEA registration and prescriptive authority in WA State.
- ACLS certification.
- Acute Care/Cardiology/Perioperative experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive chart reviews and patient evaluations ( histories and physicals, airway assessments ) to ensure readiness for surgery.
- Identify and mitigate perioperative risks based on evidence‑based protocols.
- Approve and review diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, EKGs).
- Complete medication reconciliations.
- Coordinate referrals and consultations as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Anesthesia team and Surgeons to ensure patient readiness, especially high‑risk.
- Provide patient education and address questions or concerns.
- Serve as clinical resource for PAC clinic staff.
