Job summary

Prosser Memorial Health (PMH) in Prosser, Washington seeks our first-ever Pre-Anesthesia Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive preoperative assessment and optimization at our PASS Clinic.

The NP will serve as the clinical liaison between patients, Anesthesia/CRNA team, surgeons, and primary care providers to ensure patients are medically prepared for surgery. Three-year salary base plus incentive and MGMA-based compensation are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• WA State licensure or eligibility.
• DEA registration and active prescriptive authority in WA State.
• ACLS certification, required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive chart reviews and patient evaluations - histories and physical exams, to include airway assessments - to ensure patients’ readiness for surgery.
• Identify and mitigate perioperative risks informed by evidence-based protocols.
• Approve and review diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, and EKGs), as indicated.
• Complete medication reconciliations.
• Coordinate specialist referrals and additional consultations as appropriate.
• Collaborate directly with the PMH Anesthesia team and Surgeons to ensure patient readiness, particularly patients with higher-risk conditions.
• Provide patient education, addressing questions and escalating concerns when necessary.
• Serve as a clinical resource for nursing and ancillary staff at the PAC clinic.

Our Pre-Anesthesia Nurse Practitioner will serve as the clinical liaison between patients, our Anesthesia/CRNA team, surgeons, and primary care providers to ensure patients are medically prepared for surgery. • Conduct comprehensive chart reviews and patient evaluations - histories and physical exams, to include airway assessments - to ensure patients’ readiness for surgery.

• M-F Schedule, 8am- 5pm

Qualifications and skills:

• Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Active WA State licensure or eligible to apply
• DEA registration and active prescriptive authority in WA State
• ACLS certification, required
• Clinic experience, strongly preferred
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient education skills
• Proficiency in Epic/EMR systems and documentation standards

Compensation Highlights:

• Three-year guaranteed salary plus incentive compensation based on productivity.
• Compensation is based on MGMA and determined by skills and experience. Annual base compensation range of $135,000 - $165,000.
