Job summary

Springfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Pre-Anesthesia Testing Team. This full-time, day shift role provides comprehensive pre-operative evaluation and care coordination under physician supervision, with a focus on patient safety and efficient day-of-procedure experience.

The role requires APRN or PA licensure under Illinois law, CPR, and ACLS where required, with post-graduate mid-level experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year post-graduate experience as a mid-level provider preferred.
• Excellent communication and teaching skills.
• Strong computer skills for documentation in EMR.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pre-operative evaluations and coordinate patient care for the PAT clinic.
• Collaborate with physicians and anesthesiology to optimize perioperative readiness.
• Provide patient counseling and referrals as needed.
• Document care and maintain all required paperwork.
