Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking a Pre Analytics Processing Technician II to join the Lab Central Processing-Main Campus Hospital. You will work evening shifts in a state-of-the-art facility, handling specimen processing, QA activities, and equipment maintenance alongside a dedicated team.

You will access specimens via the LIS, prepare samples for analysis, and ensure regulatory compliance while contributing to a supportive work culture and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and one year of lab experience.
• Associate’s degree in science-related field may substitute the one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and access specimens into the LIS.
• Prepare specimens for analysis.
• Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting, and routine maintenance).
• Assume compliance with basic regulations (temperature monitoring).
• Perform QA activities (pending log audit).
• Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens and verify receipts in the lab.
• Perform basic clerical functions (i.e., answering phones).

A caregiver in thispositionworksfull-time|evenings+ on-call|3:00pm—11:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting, and routine maintenance), problem-solving functions,and issue resolution.
• Assume compliance with basic regulations (temperature monitoring).
• Perform QA activities (pending log audit).
• Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens and verify receipts in the lab.
• Perform basic clerical functions (i.e.,answeringphones).

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED and one year of lab experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Associate’s degree, preferably in a science related field(this may substitute the one year of experience needed above)
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Physical Requirements:

• Manual dexterity to perform specimen handling techniques and to take measurements
• May require extended periods of standing, walking and/or sitting.
• Handles and transports bio hazardous materials.
• Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.
• Must have normal or corrected vision.
• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as defined in the exposure control plan.
