Job summary

Arnot Health in Ithaca, NY seeks a Per Diem Day PAT Nurse to perform comprehensive pre-admission assessments and coordinate required testing to optimize surgical readiness. You will review histories, educate patients, and collaborate with surgeons and care teams to promote safe outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a registered nurse with NYS license (or eligible), BLS certification, and at least 1 year of experience; BSN preferred. Onsite, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Registered professional nurse with current NYS license or eligible to obtain.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required or obtained within 90 days of hire
• BSN preferred with at least 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate perioperative nursing care to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
• Provide direct intraoperative patient care while maintaining aseptic technique and adherence to surgical safety standards.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care throughout the surgical experience.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Promote quality, safety, and continuous improvement through compliance with policies, emergency preparedness, patient advocacy, and professional development activities.
