Northern Michigan Surgical Suites is seeking a full-time Pre-Admission Testing Registered Nurse to coordinate preoperative assessments and teaching. The role focuses on reviewing patient history, orders, and ensuring timely preadmission processes to maintain safety and quality care.

The position emphasizes nursing judgment, workload prioritization, and strong communication skills within a high-staff-to-patient environment at a state-of-the-art outpatient center.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required; PALS if center requires.
• 2 years of Pre Admission/PreOp experience preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Organize and direct activities in line with nursing standards and guidelines.
• Contact patients prior to surgery to assess medical history and orders.
• Review lab, x-ray, and EKG orders to determine timing。
• Provide preadmission teaching and ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
