OAM Surgery Center at MidTowne in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Pre-Admission Testing Nurse to assess patients for surgery and anesthesia, ensure complete medical records, and coordinate across physician offices, nursing staff, scheduling, and anesthesia providers. The role reports to the Prep/PACU Manager and involves ensuring documentation and pre-op testing are complete before procedures.

Qualified candidates hold a Michigan RN or LPN license, with BCLS required and ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

Active Michigan RN or LPN license.
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing preferred.
BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred; will train.
Experience in PACU and Ambulatory Surgery preferred.
Proficient navigating multiple EMR systems (NextGen, Epic, Cerner).

Responsibilities

Assesses patient fitness for surgery and anesthesia.
Ensures medical records include required pre-op testing and labs.
Liaises between physician offices, clinical nursing staff, surgery scheduling, and anesthesia.
Reports to the Prep/PACU Manager.
No direct reports.
Retrieves scheduling slips and assembles the paper chart.
Communicates missing information to physician offices.
Maintains quality and accuracy of patient accounts.
Responds to inquiries via email, phone, and messages.
Supports prep/PACU staff per supervisor.
Cross-trains to pre- and post-op areas as directed.
