Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care is seeking a Pre-Admission Services Registered Nurse to perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments and risk evaluations to ensure surgical safety. You will screen patients by phone and in person, coordinating clearances and prepping patients for procedures.

Collaborate with anesthesia teams, surgeons, and perioperative staff; provide patient education and ensure medical optimization prior to procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current, unrestricted Oregon and Washington RN licenses; BLS and ACLS.
• BSN preferred. Continuing education encouraged.
• Epic EHR experience and ability to coordinate preoperative care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments via telephone and in-person visits to evaluate readiness for surgery and anesthesia.
• Review medical histories, medications, allergies, and prior anesthetic experiences.
• Assess anesthesia and surgical risks using standardized screening tools and protocols.
• Coordinate pre-operative testing and medical clearances based on patient risk factors.
• Educate patients and families on pre-operative preparation and expectations.
