Job summary

TeamMD is seeking a Registered Nurse for PreOp/Admitting at our Millburn, NJ location. The role focuses on thorough preoperative assessments, consent verification, medical history reviews, and coordination with surgical teams to optimize patient readiness.

Requirements include NJ RN license, BLS and PALS certifications, and 1-2 years OR experience with orthopedic procedures. Onsite role with competitive hourly compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New Jersey
• BLS, CLS & PALS certifications required
• 1-2 years operating room experience with orthopedic procedures
• Proficient in patient assessment, IV therapy, medication administration and patient education
• Knowledge of ambulatory surgery and pre-anesthesia care processes
• Strong communication, organization and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Use equipment following manufacturer instructions
• Apply proper techniques per accepted standards
• Assist with inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment in admission area
• Maintain order and cleanliness of PreOp/Admitting area
• Provide safe, patient-centered preoperative nursing care including assessment and planning
• Verify patient identity and procedure details, ensure discharge readiness and instruction understanding
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to support continuity of care
• Maintain clean, organized clinical environment and adhere to safety standards
• Demonstrate time management and assist with patient transport and unit operations
• Perform additional duties as assigned
