Job summary

HCA Florida Capital Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pre-Admission Testing. You will assess patients pre-operatively, educate families, prepare patients (IV therapy, meds), and participate in surgical safety protocols. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based peri-operative care and continuous improvement.

The role requires ACLS, BLS, and PALS within 30 days of start. An RN or APRN credential and acute care experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
• APRN or RN credential required.
• Acute care nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education for peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Perform surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• React to patient emergencies with safety and care.
• Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care.
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, and staff to improve surgical workflow.
• Document patient condition and care accurately.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up.
