Job description

**Job Description:**

Schedules and pre-registers patients for appointments, outpatient visits, procedures, and other appointments captured by the department. Completes any administrative work associated with scheduling the appointment. Transcribes external orders from physicians. Handles high call volumes across multiple locations and departments.

**Essential Functions:**

  1. Utilizes multiple systems to perform all scheduling functions as needed.
  2. Possesses excellent computer skills with the ability to resolve technical issues independently.
  3. Provides patients with preparation and location information.
  4. Accurately collects and inputs patient data into the system.
  5. Validates patient insurance and explains benefits as needed.
  6. Manages multiple phone calls, including answering, transferring, and conferencing.
  7. Acts as a mentor for new hires as needed.
  8. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health and adheres to service standards.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
