Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant Practice Lead to oversee administrative management of an offsite practice and perform core MA duties in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, patient registration, specimen collection, clinical procedures, and inventory management while coordinating with the Practice Manager. Strong communication and bilingual skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant required or Registered MA
• BLS/CPR certification preferred
• 3–5 years in ambulatory care or private practice
• Proficient with medical terminology, billing practices and coding
• Proficient with MS Office Suites
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bilingual candidates preferred: Spanish, Polish, or Korean

Responsibilities

• Opens and closes the practice location
• Functions as the Medical Assistant for the practice
• Performs venipuncture, urinalysis, glucose, hemoglobin and ECG
• Keeps exam rooms, meds and supply rooms stocked and organized
• Manages inventory and supply stock with Practice Manager
• Registers patients and collects demographic and insurance data
• Collects payments including co-pays and self-pay
• Conducts post-service follow-up calls to patients
• Follows up on no-show appointments as directed
• Addresses site issues and escalates when needed
• Participates in marketing and community outreach
• Participates in education, QA and in-service meetings
• Promotes the hospital's mission, vision and values
• Greets patients and visitors with a positive attitude
• Performs other duties as assigned
