Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant Practice Lead to oversee off-site administrative functions and provide hands-on MA support in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

The ideal candidate is certified/registered, with CPR certification and 3–5 years’ ambulatory care experience, excellent communication, and proficiency in medical terminology, billing, and coding. Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified or registered Medical Assistant required.
• AHA CPR certification required.
• 3–5 years in ambulatory care or private practice.
• Proficient with medical terminology, billing practices and coding.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the practice manager, manages the off-site practice administratively.
• Opens and closes the practice location.
• Acts as the Medical Assistant for the practice.
• Performs venipuncture, urinalysis, glucose, hemoglobin, ECG.
• Maintains stocked exam rooms and supply rooms.
• Manages inventory and ordering of medical supplies with the Practice Manager.
• Registers patients and collects demographic, financial and insurance information.
• Receives payments including co-pays and self-pay.
• Conducts follow-up calls and reschedules/no-shows as directed.
