Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments, maintain records, and support scheduling as needed.
  • Welcome patients, assist with check-in/check-out, collect co-pays, and respond to routine questions.
  • Manage calls, route messages, and coordinate requests including prior authorizations and provider questions.
  • Process billing forms, scan documents into EPIC, and request medical records and lab results.
  • Distribute mail and faxes and prepare routine correspondence.
  • Serve as an EPIC Super User for scheduling, registration, and billing systems; training provided.
  • Help train staff and support schedule management as needed.

Job Summary

Practice Assistant II - Lung Center

Department: Department of Medicine - Lung Center

Schedule: Monday-Friday, normal business hours, onsite

Compensation: Starting at $20.00 per hour, with increases based on relevant experience

Make a meaningful impact as a Practice Assistant II in the Lung Center. In this fast-paced, patient-focused role, you’ll help create a welcoming and efficient experience for patients while keeping daily practice operations running smoothly.

Working under general supervision, you’ll provide both administrative and patient-facing support, including scheduling, check-in and check-out, patient communication, and office coordination. Responsibilities may vary based on department needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome patients, assist with check-in and check-out, collect co-payments, and respond to routine questions.

Qualifications
Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience

2-3 years of office experience required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
  • Knowledge of office operations and administrative procedures.
  • Strong phone, customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to follow established processes and work effectively within a team.
