Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to support ambulatory care providers and ensure efficient operations in a busy practice. You will complete and safeguard patient records, respond to information requests, and maintain confidentiality in a mental health setting.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of healthcare office experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with computers. A degree (Associates or BA) is preferred.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical office or mental health setting preferred.
  • Experience with patients with anxiety and depression preferred.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor in a mental health setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work well with a team.
  • Excellent computer skills expected.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Some healthcare setting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of working in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support providers with the delivery of high-quality healthcare to ambulatory patients.
  • Support operations in a fast-paced practice.
  • Complete and safeguard medical records.
  • Respond to verbal and electronic requests for information following policies and provider instructions.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
  • Follow emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations.
  • Support HR compliance processes, including I-9 verification.
  • Assist with drug screening processes, including specimen collection and ordering supplies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, provider, and organizational information.
  • Complete other relevant responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.

  • Assist with drug screening processes, including specimen collection, shipment, and ordering supplies
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, provider, and organizational information
  • Complete other relevant responsibilities assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
  • At least one year of experience working in a medical office and/or mental health is preferred
  • Experience working with patients suffering from anxiety and depression is preferred
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and interface well with patients in a mental health setting is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Associates or bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Some experience in healthcare settings is preferred
  • Knowledge of working in a clinical setting is preferred
